With the fall update’s addition of gold ingots (finally), it's natural to ask ‘what do I do with all this gold?’
First we want to make sure those of you who love to make really awesome looking bases have a great use for gold to complement those updated treasure piles.
Why keep all of your gold just in piles of coins when you can also gild your walls and floors? Here's an example of some of the new gold-plated building parts:
But that's not all. Now you can spend all of that gold on variants of your favorite armor. The Erebor City, Belegost, Khazâd Army and Durin’s Guard sets will have these incredible looking gold plated versions.
Of course we couldn't just stop at gold plating, especially when we know everyone is just swimming in black and white diamonds [wink]. So for those of you in the elder game who really want to flex in your screenshots, we're adding black- and white-plated variants of the same armor sets.
In lore, the variants each signify something different:
- Amzul - gold-plated armor was given as a great honor by clan fathers.
- Masharuz - black-plated armor was worn by grieving Dwarves on missions of vengeance.
- Shayar - white-plated armor was traditional for Dwarves on pilgrimages.
We really hope you'll enjoy blinging out your dwarfs after this update.
The gold and armor update is due to be released in Fall 2024 as part of our third major title update alongside the release of the Steam and Xbox versions of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria™.
