The forge is hot!

This year we celebrated Durin’s Day on Oct 21st with some exciting news from the Return to Moria Team: The upcoming Expansion, Durin’s Folk, will be released on Nov 18th! You can read our official announcement here: https://www.returntomoria.com/news-updates/rtm-df-releasedate 

Alongside our official announcement, Game Director Jon-Paul Dumont, prepared an exclusive video for our Discord Community, sharing Durin’s Day wishes and showing the first gameplay preview of Durin’s Folk in action, including a never before revealed outside location where players can build their most epic base yet!

This preview has since been uploaded to YouTube, with the YouTube version featuring a brief overview of what The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria™ is, as well as what changes and updates were made to the game over the past 2 years since its initial release. The following Friday, Jon-Paul Dumont and Art Director Bradley Fulton joined Community Manager Clare Byrne for Forge Talk 13. Recorded on Oct 24th, this Forge Talk also marked the 2 year anniversary of the initial release of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria.

During this Forge Talk, Jon-Paul and Bradley touched on the original design thoughts behind the world inside the mountain, how this affected design choices for outside areas in Durin’s Folk. They also covered more details about the Expansion itself, including what was seen in the Durin’s Folk Preview video (shown above) and what players can expect from Title Update 6 which releases on the same day. Towards the end of the Forge Talk Jon-Paul and Bradley answered some additional community FAQ questions about Durin’s Folk, which in turn touched on some anecdotes around new voice line recording sessions for the Expansion!
